This is a thank you, to the poets who blessed our space with words, to the musicians whose notes accompanied each syllable, to the artists who covered our walls in color.
This is a thank you, to the poets who led workshops that helped people to find ways to use their voice.
This is a thank you, to the children who walked into our space to use a typewriter, the keys banging out sounds they were still learning to put together.
This is a thank you, to the poets who read each other’s work and found ways to express the beauty they saw in it and the places where confusion provides opportunity for improvement.
This is a thank you, to everyone who sat in a chair to listen, dropped a dollar, a twenty or a hundred, and the funders who saw the value in our work, allowing us to pay poets, musicians and artists, buy books to give away and provide space for conversation and community around poetry, art and music.
