Poetic Voices: A POET"S TOUR OF THE PHILLIPS COLLECTION

Poetic Voices is a partnership between the American Poetry Museum and the Phillips Collection and is a series of programs that explore the interestions of visual art and poetry

Featuring: A POET"S TOUR OF THE PHILLIPS COLLECTION with poet Fred Joiner. Fred responds in poetry to artwork in the museum's collection, including paintings by Jacob Lawrence and Horace Pippin.

Fred Joiner is a poet and artist living in Washington DC's Historic Anacostia. Fred's work has been published in numerous places, including Warpland: A Journal of Black Literature and Ideas, Beltway Poetry Quarterly, Fingernails Across the Chalkboard, his blog, and in his own forthcoming chapbook, tentatively titled Seekin'.
